An unexpected trip to Galveston on New Year’s Eve leads us to a front row view of the gulf and a flight of margaritas. When reviewing margaritas, we try several and a flight of margaritas gives us the opportunity to try flavors we might have passed on when ordering a full size drink.
The patio offers a better view of the water, but the birds make it difficult to enjoy a drink, let alone a meal. We sat inside next to the window for dinner and several margaritas. It was New Year’s and we had a designated driver 😉
We were in a mood to be happy and relaxed. Good opportunity for a good margarita. What did we find?

We were surprised to see the house margarita – the Margaritaville Rita – rate better than the Perfect Patron. The Prickly Pear was definitely the best of those tried this evening.
Overall, Tortuga’s is good for Tex-Mex and a view.
