Grand Gold Margarita

The Swirl

Road trip! It’s 2020 and we would like to get out and about after being home for 7 months, so we decided to take a road trip and ended up in Santa Fe, New Mexico. What a beautiful old and historic city. It was a pleasure to try a variety of restaurants, which also happen to be part of the Santa Fe Margarita Trail. What a fun way to tour the city!
You can pick up a margarita trail passport for $3.00 (or an abbreviated version for free,) and have the participating restaurants stamp your passport. Since we were only spending a couple of days in Santa Fe, and couldn’t possibly try more than a couple of margaritas, we chose to forgo the passport but visit some of the restaurants on the trail. Tomasita’s was one of those restaurants.
Tomasita’s is located at the Santa Fe Railyard, and had an outdoor patio that had a great view of the sunset. We let our waiter know that we were there to try their margaritas that were part of the trail. He recommended that we try the Grand Gold Margarita and The Swirl.
Our waiter brought us sample size glasses of the Grand Gold and The Swirl margaritas. Yum yum! Both were wonderful, but The Swirl got the top vote, so a full sized one was ordered. We gave the Grand Gold 4 margarita glasses, and The Swirl 4 1/2 margarita glasses out of 5. The sangria used for the swirl blended well with the margarita.
Beautiful sunset from Tomasita's and the Santa Fe Railyard with a sliver of moon in the distance
Tomasita’s had great service, great margaritas, and great food. We look forward to getting back to Santa Fe to continue on the Santa Fe Margarita Trail.

And the hunt continues…..

    1. Thank you for the inquiry! The menu states that the Grand Gold is a secret recipe containing grand marnier, reposado tequila, curacao, house made sweet and sour, and more.
