We were near Mason Road and the Grand Parkway when we decided to search for a place to pick up dinner and margaritas. It can take a lot of searching and the use of different apps to find a place to eat, especially if you are looking for a place with ratings. The phone app for The Great Margarita Hunt will launch soon with a map available for just this type of situation.
Las Mañanitas shows up at the top of a Google search, and following the link, we selected the Mason Road location to order from the website. There are three locations.
We used the website to place an order online that included margaritas, and we headed to the restaurant. We arrived before our order was ready and waited to pull up to the front door. We called the restaurant to let them know we were waiting out front.
After a few minutes, we received a call confirming our location in front of the restaurant. Following some back and forth, we learned we were at the wrong location. There are two locations on Mason road, one in Katy and one in Richmond. We missed this important fact when looking at the website and thinking we were in Katy. How will we resolve the problem of our hot family size enchiladas and frozen margaritas waiting 10 miles away?
Las Mañanitas offered to meet us in between the two locations and brought our food and margarita order to us. We are so glad Las Mañanitas brought our order. It was worth the extra effort.
A quick word about the food. The best chicken enchiladas and the best-refried beans we have ever had. All of the food we tried from Las Mañanitas was excellent.
Now, let’s rate the margaritas. Las Mañanitas’s online menu offers eleven different flavors as a house margarita. That is an impressive selection for a takeout menu. We ordered the house, top shelf, mango, and peach. Our first time to try a peach margarita, and it was good, but not a favorite as compared to the mango. One of our official judges said it was the best mango margarita she ever tried.
The best overall margarita this evening is the top shelf with a rating of 4 ½ margarita glasses. That is very good for a #TakeoutMargarita. The house margarita is worthy of a repeat, and while it is not as strong as the top shelf, we also rate the house margarita as 4 ½ margarita glasses.
We find about one in four margaritas is worthy of a repeat. Las Mañanitas will see us again for dinner and more margaritas.
