A rare weeknight family dinner in Austin brought us to La Feria on Parmer Lane. This is a busy neighborhood place with a good choice of of margaritas on the menu. We had five adults and seven margaritas. A respectable showing for a weeknight.
We were happy to see a good selection of margaritas on the menu. La Feria offered plenty of options at reasonable prices. At $5.95, the house margaritas are a great value.
The Jameson Irish Whiskey glasses were interesting and worked well for the on the rocks margaritas.
We tried a watermelon margarita made with Espolòn Blanco and frozen mango margarita. Both were good, but not the greatest margarita in the world.
If you like a little heat with your margarita, the Spicy Mezcal Rita was good enough to order two.
Before leaving the table, we asked for the bartender’s very best margarita. We were seated right next to the bar and could see the reaction. Some bartenders enjoy the opportunity to be creative and others are ready to close the bar for the night.
Not terribly creative, but an acceptable top shelf made with Don Julio Anejo was delivered to the table.
We our giving La Feria 3 1/2 stars for the Spicy Mezcal Rita. A decent place for food and margaritas, but not the greatest margarita in the world.
