The covered sidewalk in front of the building offered a selection of items for sale.  Need a face mask or some bleach?
After a full day of telework, we drove into town for #TakeoutThursday and our first visit to Cuchara Restaurant.  The #TakeoutMargaritas are individual drinks rather than quart or gallon size options.  We ordered mango, watermelon, and a skinny margarita.  We also placed what has become our weekly food order with a sample of several dishes, guacamole, and a dessert to share.

Waiting for us was a man from the restaurant with a face mask.  He came close enough to get my name and returned with our food order and a spray bottle to disinfect my hands before handing the receipt for my signature.
He went back into the restaurant to get the margaritas and returned with two cups of margarita mix inside a two cup cardboard cupholder.  Each cup of margarita mix came with a mini bottle of Cazadores Tequila Blanco.

Back at home, we put some ice in our chilled glasses and laid out our bounty of food.

The skinny margarita was close to perfect.  It gets 4 ½ margarita glasses, which is very good for a takeout margarita.  Probably a five margarita glass rating with premium tequila.

The mango and watermelon margaritas were good.  The mango margarita was not as sweet as you might expect.  We gave it a 3 margarita glass rating, and the watermelon margarita is 3 ½ margarita glasses. Both would probably work better as frozen margaritas.

We are on the hunt for the greatest margarita in the world, but we need to eat along the way.  Cuchara gave us great food.  The Flautas de Pollo, Quesadillas De Picadillo, Enchiladas Borrachas were all delicious.  After tasting the flavorful meat and vegetable stuffing inside the Pescado Empanizado, we want to return for the pozole someday.  A good bet that it is fantastic.
When we started this hunt, we could not foresee a time when our restaurant visits were more about wanting to do our small bit to help the restaurants and staff in our area than tasting margaritas.  We have been surprised by the quality of the food and the margaritas on our weekly #TakeoutThursday visits.  Why don’t you join us and order takeout margaritas and food from your favorite local restaurant this week?

The hunt continues…
