Friday evening traffic was not bad. Using Google maps we found El Pueblito Patio, or rather we found the parking area. We did not see the restaurant until we went back around the block. The restaurant sits next to Mandell Park with a small strip center on the other side. No parking is allowed for El Pueblito patrons. Look for the parking lot connected to an old dry cleaners.
It was about 6:15 when we walked into the restaurant and were shown to a table on the patio. After 6pm on a Friday night and there were only a few tables occupied. We were happy to learn happy hour is from 2pm – 7 pm. We ordered a frozen Lime-Rita, which is the house margarita, and the Don Julio Sexyrita. Both were good, but the price for the Lime-Rita was fantastic at $2.95 for regular size and $3.95 for a 10 oz. Did I mention it is a good house margarita? We give the Lime-Rita 3.5 margarita glasses. The Don Julio Sexyrita receives 4 margarita glasses.
The ceviche is served in a pineapple. Excellent ceviche and a good reason to try the Pinarita. The Pinerita is the house margarita served in a pineapple. With the ceviche and margarita in pineapples and the patio with curtains blowing, it almost seemed like we were in Cozumel. The Pinerita receives a 4 margarita glass rating.
The music started and more diners were seated when we ordered the last round. The Jalapeno Rita was surprisingly good. A balance of heat and sweet made this one of the best spicy margaritas we have tried on the hunt. We give the Jalapeno Rita 5 margarita glasses.
