The Great Margarita Hunt website and the app are for adults of the legal drinking age.
We are on the hunt for the perfect margarita, and with your help, we are making a treasure map to help others find the best margarita in the world. Using a scale of five margarita glasses in place of stars (think Michelin stars for margaritas), we conduct rigorous tests to evaluate margaritas for taste, potency, and price. With or without salt, on-the-rocks or frozen, traditional and creative, we want to taste them all! Using your recommendations, we travel to locations boasting an exceptional margarita and upload pictures and reviews to help you and your friends find must-try specialties and neighborhood favorite spots for margaritas. On the rocks or frozen, with or without salt, we will try them all!
Just margaritas? Yes! You can do a lot with tequila and lime juice, and we have found surprising interpretations and unique inspirations that keep the hunt fun and interesting. The hunt started in Texas, where you can find many different original margaritas, from the hipsters keeping it weird in Austin to the traditionalists in San Antonio. There's something to love at each spot! Our search has expanded beyond the Lone Star state. With the help of our judges, the map continues to grow with recommendations from coast to coast in the U.S., Mexico, and beyond! Wherever you are, tell us about your favorite place for a noteworthy margarita, and we will add it to our list of places to visit and review.
