Cucumber Jalapeño

Traditional

Top Shelf

This lovely restaurant requires reservations on busy evenings like the Saturday night we arrived.  There is not much of a bar area.  Our bartender Anthony accommodated us at a small table in the adjacent waiting area, where we tried several margaritas and enjoyed a plate of perfectly prepared nachos. Anthony provided excellent service while juggling the bar and us at a table.
Cucumber Jalapeño – El Jimador, Fresh Lime – This is a refreshing and straightforward margarita with enough spice to keep the cucumber happy.  We like this smooth margarita and give it 4.5 margarita glasses.

Traditional – This is a good margarita and will pair nicely with the upscale menu offered at La Fonda.  We give this a rating of 3.5 margarita glasses.
Top Shelf – Lalo Blanco, Citrónge, Fresh Lime –   We found this Top Shelf to highlight what a margarita should be – smooth and refreshing.  If we weren’t trying different margaritas to review for you, we would order a second Top Shelf and be very happy.  We give this margarita 4.5 margarita glasses.

The hunt continues….
