Classica

This is our first-time for brunch at El Alma.  We enjoyed the interesting brunch menu offering several tequila cocktails at happy hour prices on the sunny rooftop patio.
Mangorita – this is real mango puree with a chili rim.  We enjoyed the fresh mango and tequila and gave this margarita a rating of 4 out of 5 margarita glasses.

El Melocoton – Frozen margarita with peach puree, sparkling wine, angostura bitters and guajillo sugar/salt rim.  This beverage is a love it or not kind of drink.  The Great Margarita Hunt likes interesting margaritas, and El Melocoton is interesting.  We give this peach tequila mimosa creation a rating of 3 margarita glasses.
Barton Spring Best  – Made with Don Julio Silver, Cointreau, lime juice, agave, and served on the rocks, this is a nice, smooth margarita that pairs perfectly with your meal.  We give this margarita a 4 margarita glass rating.

Flaquita – Watermelon-serrano infused Jimador Silver, watermelon puree, lime juice, agave, on the rock with el chile rim.  Refreshing and not too sweet watermelon, this was our favorite margarita at El Alma.  We give this margarita 4.5 out of 5 margarita glasses.

Classica – Jimador Silver, triple sec, lime juice, agave, frozen or on the rocks, we tried this classic margarita frozen. We missed the salt on the rim but still enjoyed the margarita and gave it a rating of 4 margarita glasses.
Note, the traffic flow around the restaurant is challenging.  We parked farther away than needed and walked about ½ mile.  There is limited parking in front and to the side of the building.  We enjoyed the food and the outdoor patio.  El Alma offers a spot to get a feel for Austin and enjoy a couple of margaritas with an interesting menu and view.

The hunt continues….
