Grande Clase Azul Margarita

A lovely day for happy hour at a place recommended by a friend of The Great Margarita Hunt. Great décor and the wall of tequila bottles at the bar give us hope for good things to come. We ordered off the happy hour menu and selected the house margarita and a watermelon margarita.
House Margarita – El Jimador Blanco, Patrón Citrónge, fresh-squeezed orange juice, home-made sweet and sour mix. This is normally a $13 margarita served for $8 during happy hour. We aren’t big fans of sweet and sour mix in margaritas, but this is a good margarita and we give it a rating of 3.5 margarita glasses.
Watermelon Margarita –  Nosotros Blanco, muddle watermelon and lime juice.  This $14 margarita is $9 at happy hour, and we enjoyed the blend. Mild watermelon but nice with tajin on the rim. We give 4 margarita glasses.
Cucumber Jalapeño Margarita – Corralejo Blanco, muddled cucumber and jalapeño, fresh lime juice, and agave nectar. This is a really nice margarita. Not too spicy, not too sweet. We like the tajin and salt on the rim. This refreshing drink is not on the happy hour menu, but it still made us happy at $14. We give this margarita 4.5 margarita glasses.

We had a driver waiting because we knew we needed to drink responsibly. This also allowed us to try two more margaritas, the Blackberry Ginger Margarita and the Grande Clase Azul Margarita. So glad we could save these two for last.
Blackberry Ginger Margarita – Nosotros Blanco muddled with blackberries and ginger, lime juice and agave nectar. Our bartender recommended we add jalapeño, which made this a close to perfect drink, definitely worth $14. We give this yummy drink 4.5 margarita glasses.
Grande Clase Azul Margarita – Served with the cocktail shaker, this ultimate margarita starts off with a nice Clase Azul Reposado and adds lime juice, agave nectar, and Cointreau. Simple is often better and while this is a $28 margarita, the standard size shaker makes this a large margarita, so it’s reasonable. We enjoyed the tajin and salt rim and give this margarita a rating of 4.5 margarita glasses.
We loved the chips and salsa served with our drinks at the bar. We had more places to go, but this would have been a great place to have dinner. Maybe next time.

The hunt continues….
