Molina’s Frozen

Don Julio Añejo

Cinco de Mayo 2021! We visited Molina’s for Cinco de Mayo and were happy to find the parking lot packed and a 25 minute wait. Except for the masks, life almost seemed normal.
The Great Margarita Hunt rates margaritas on a scale of five margarita glasses (stars). We tried three margaritas. First, we enjoyed the traditional house margarita frozen sitting at a side bar while we waited for our table. No napkin or chips, but the frozen drink is a decent house margarita and we gave it 3.5 margarita glasses.
Don Julio Añejo
A nice selection of tequila is available for sipping or to make a top shelf margarita. All the margaritas are made with fresh lime juice and triple sec. We asked for a top shelf made with Don Julio Añejo. This was very nice. Missing the salt, but perfectly blended. We gave it a 4.5 margarita glass rating.
To finish, we tried one more top shelf. We asked for Herradura Gold but later found Herradura Añejo on the receipt. It was loud in the restaurant, so our server may have misheard, or there was a mix-up with the order. No rating for this margarita because we don’t know which tequila we received.
We enjoyed our meal and the mariachi band made everything better. If you are looking for a place to try a straight forward margarita with plenty of tequila options and good food, Molina’s won’t disappoint.
We must mention, we love ❤ the homemade pralines served with the check.

The hunt continues…
