Fresh Lime Margarita

It is always so fun to do a road trip – especially a Texas Hill Country road trip! We decided to visit the historic town of Gruene and have lunch at the Gristmill, which is on the site of an old cotton gin. Most of the dining is outdoor patio dining with many of the tables giving a view through the trees of the Guadalupe River flowing by below. It feels like you are truly on vacation to visit this establishment, which is a favorite for many!
We decided to try the Fresh Lime Margarita which is their house special made with fresh lime juice.  It could be had on the rocks or frozen, and we chose frozen. And oh yes – a must try at the Gristmill are their onion rings with their homemade prime sauce. So good!
The margarita was very limey and had little flecks of lime zest in it. It was very refreshing and we gave it three margarita glasses.
The menu had two other choices for margaritas: the Jalepeno Margarita and the Perfect Patron, which we will try next time we visit the Gristmill.

The hunt continues…
