New restaurant and we’re going to enjoy it with our family living in Round Rock, TX. It is an early dinner and we’re going to have some margaritas on the patio until we discover it is a little chilly so back inside. Our server was very accommodating, allowing us to move inside to a booth. On the first round of margaritas we try the usual frozen house margarita which is on our list for every location we visit. We’re also trying The Ultimate, La Margarita’s Rojo Margarita and the Mangonada Rita.
The frozen house margarita was not a favorite. Comment below and let us know if you have tried the house margarita at La Margarita. The sweet and sour mix is not our favorite. We give the house frozen a rating of 2.5 margarita glasses.
A better choice, The Ultimate Margarita made with Hornitos Reposado 100% Agave Tequila, Gran Gala, sweet and sour, and a squeeze of fresh lime. The tequila made the difference and we give The Ultimate a rating of 4 margarita glasses.
La Margarita’s Rojo Margarita is a fun idea. It’s made with Tres Generaciones Anejo 100% Agave Tequila, Gran Gala, sweet and sour, and splashes of orange and cranberry juice. It may be the sweet and sour is just not a good match for us, because this should be a margarita we would appreciate more than the 3 margarita glass rating it receives. It’s worth ordering, just not a favorite.
The Mangonada Rita is perfectly garnished with a Tajin rim and Tamarind candy covered straw. This is a large 20 ounce frozen margarita made with Chamoy, a Mexican condiment used on all kinds of things including fruit and potato chips. Mangonadas are popular at food trucks. La Margarita has added the tequila to make a really good margarita. Smart way to offer a mango flavored margarita. We give the Mangonada Rita a rating of 4.5 margarita glasses.
We enjoyed dinner with fajitas and enchiladas and our attentive server. As we finished up our meal we ordered the Border Rita and a Mexican Martini. The Border Rita is made with Sauza Silver Tequila, Gran Gala, that same sweet and sour mix and a squeeze of fresh lime. The Ultimate and the Border is the same margarita recipe made with different tequilas and it shows here. We give the Border Margarita a rating of 3 margarita glasses.
The Mexican Martini is served in a cocktail shaker. It is a generous 20 ounce cocktail served with your choice of premium tequila. We thought it was a little on the sweet side and gave the drink a rating of 3.5 margarita glasses.
While we visited for the margaritas, we must mention dessert. The Fried Ice Cream was very good as was the Tres Leches. If they just had a little tequila and lime…

The hunt continues…
