Cinco de Mayo is an obvious choice for takeout margaritas while most of us our still at home. We ordered dinner online using the Los Tios website early in the day. Los Tios in Sugar Land was our choice because their website provides an option to order in advance. We selected 7:30 PM for the pickup time and ordered our dinner meal with a $45 pitcher of the frozen house margaritas.
We arrived at 7:30 PM and found this pop up tent outside the front door. After providing the name on the order we waited to the side while several others walked up. A bag of food remained on the table waiting on the table under the tent. There were about six people waiting. We overheard a woman say she had been waiting since 7:00 PM and they were taking at least 30 minutes to bring the orders. We hoped this might not apply to us as our had placed my order early in the afternoon.
About 7:45 PM a waiter brought a tray of medicine cup sized margaritas around to the people waiting. A nice touch, but it was starting to rain and I wanted my adult size margaritas.
After asking about our order twice, we saw someone who looked like he might be a manager. We told him we wanted our order or a refund. He motioned to come inside the restaurant and told the young woman behind the counter to give me a refund. Then he learned our order was almost ready and offered a single to go margarita. We agreed and waited on the rest of the order. At 8:10 PM, we headed for the car.
It was not a good experience and we knew we would not return to this Los Tios location.
So after all of that, how was the margarita?
